Real Valladolid
Real Valladolid Club de Fútbol is a Spanish football club. Formed on June 20 , 1928, from the amalgamation of Real Unión Deportiva de Valladolid and Club Deportivo Español. Valladolid beat Espanyol in their first match of the season before drawing against Deportivo La Coruna and losing in unfortunate fashion to Valencia in their last match, and the newly-promoted side started well.And Valladolid struck after 70 minutes with a wonder strike from unlikely goalscorer Lopez.
Valladolid ran away with the second-division title last season, collecting 88 points (the highest total of any champions in the past 10 seasons) and finishing eight points clear of runners-up Almeria. Six champions have survived in the past 10 seasons (the latest success story was Recreativo, who finished eighth last season) – two of those champions had been promoted with 80+ points and both survived (finishing eighth and 16th). Valladolid had the best away record in the second division (W12-D6-L3) – the promoted team with that positive has survived in six of the last 10 seasons.
